Siemens Arcade
Overview
Engineering recruitment: boring. Pixel art arcade games at careers fairs: NOT boring. Siemens wanted to stand out from the sea of branded pens and sad pamphlets, so we built a competitive iPad game that made students actually WANT to engage. Heated multiplayer battles ensued. Conversations started with 'good game' and ended with 'so tell me about those engineering positions...'
Features
Unity multitouch enables same-screen multiplayer—students competing simultaneously on ONE iPad naturally creates conversation (and trash talk). Retro pixel art aesthetic instantly signals 'this company actually gets fun' amid corporate blandness. Local leaderboards create bragging rights and repeat engagement all day. Siemens/AIA transformed their booth from forgettable to 'have you tried that arcade game yet?' destination. Students who came for games left with job application forms. Sneaky. Effective.
